From 1e39136fde67cec9f9be04eb5e48b799a81e0db2 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Andrija Panic Date: Fri, 30 Oct 2026 06:49:34 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] ui: clarify the MAC address switch in the VM import form The switch that decides what happens when an imported NIC's MAC address is already used on the selected network was labelled "Allow duplicate MAC addresses" on the VMware to KVM form, which is the opposite of what it does, and just "Force" on the other import forms. Label it "Generate new MAC address if already in use", give it a plain tooltip, and hide it for remote KVM and disk imports, where the server always generates a new MAC address and ignores the switch. --- ui/public/locales/en.json | 2 ++ ui/src/views/tools/ImportUnmanagedInstance.vue | 10 +++++----- 2 files changed, 7 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/ui/public/locales/en.json b/ui/public/locales/en.json index 0acafc3b8015..a63ab80c72d3 100644 --- a/ui/public/locales/en.json +++ b/ui/public/locales/en.json @@ -1232,6 +1232,7 @@ "label.fwdeviceid": "ID", "label.fwdevicestate": "Status", "label.gateway": "Gateway", +"label.generate.new.mac.if.in.use": "Generate new MAC address if already in use", "label.global": "Global", "label.global.settings": "Global Settings", "label.globo.dns": "GloboDNS", @@ -3846,6 +3847,7 @@ "message.failed.to.remove": "Failed to remove", "message.forgot.password.success": "An email has been sent to your email address with instructions on how to reset your password.", "message.generate.keys": "Please confirm that you would like to generate new API/Secret keys for this User.", +"message.generate.new.mac.if.in.use": "If a NIC's MAC address is already used by another NIC on the selected network, CloudStack assigns a new MAC address to the imported NIC and the import continues.
